

Duniya Lang, M.S.
Founder/Executive Director
Duniya Lang has worked as a researcher on Islamic trauma healing and reconciliation in the past six years in collaboration with the University of Washington’s Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress. She pursued her higher education at the University of Minnesota and graduated there with a B.A. in political science. She also earned her M.S.C.J., Master of Science in Criminal Justice at Boston University. She worked as a Community Advocate and Program Manager where she learned the need for trauma healing in the Somali and Muslim communities.

Saed Haji
Deputy Director
Mr. Saed has been an entrepreneur and youth development activist for the past five years. He has a background in information technology and diverse experience in journalism, migration, and the geopolitics in East Africa. Saed speaks Somali, Arabic, and English. He worked closely with the diaspora communities from Middle East and Africa. He has a passion for sports, reading, and traveling.

Awale has been a community leader for the last twenty years in Washington State. He was a former Kent Councilmember candidate, and is elected Kent School District Board of Director.
